MGRP Red - Chapter 3

Heyyyyy we're back, long time no see, eh? ehe... ah 😅
Yea its uh, been a hot minute, and no, I have still not finished Red, I left it where these live reacts ended.. UNTIL NOW
After A Lot of Life and personal circumstances getting in the way (and me putting it off), I finally managed some successful re-reads of Black and White and got up to speed back where we left off! Chapter 3 time... but I can yap a bit before then, right?

This is probably not the place to litigate the struggles but I'm doing well after a lot of shit! Its a little weird looking back at the old reactions cause its me and I'm still me but I'm also in an entirely different state of mind now as I was then, hm. As far as fandom goes, I've been doing my best to keep up with news and stuff but its a bit hard not being on twitter (and at risk of spoilers), SO excited for the anime though OH MY GOD. I've also been doing more and more art, and a couple months ago spent an entire month drawing MGRP art daily, which I was super happy with and might try doing again after I finish Red. I need to put them all up in a single gallery on here, but for now you can just scroll through my #dailyMGRP tag on bsky. As for spoilers, I've actually stayed almost unscathed, outside of the Thing(?) I got spoiled way back when. I got something else maybe spoiled somewhat recently? but I seem to have forgotten it now?? and I'm not gonna try to remember it and I'll stop now before I do.

Not many! Most of my thoughts/predictions from previous reactions still stand, and its been fun seeing stuff I forgot in these two chapters, then re-reading my reactions and seeing I also reacted the same way this time lmao.

Really feeling how much everyone is playing with fire fucking with the relic, keep thinking about Juube's comment on how using magic to find out about it is probably tantamount to casting magic on it. Cool sort of, quantum "you can't measure without disturbing" aspect to it.
On that point as I said on the last reactions, Old Blue is like, too curious and obsessed in finding truths for her own good as well

I think its interesting there's instances of Kana's magic just, not returning an answer
How DOES Pythie's transfer into Kashiki work anyway? is she also participating in the sage system now? is she just, putting her soul in a base? is that something no one other than sages had the privilege of trying before- OH I guess, in a sense, its literally the same as Pastel Mary and Francisca. I'd want to say she's still, short of the power of a real incarnation, but what would that entail? are their souls even that special in the end, or is it all just on the power of the base? Well, the relic is doing something, hmm
On that topic she was all against halna's fusion of magical girl with homunculus but then did this to herself
I got the sense in White that what made the courtyard special magically was all the gardening which I thought was cool but here it gets wrecked and its just, her pulling magic from the ruins with her valve and pipe. THOUGH TO BE FAIR I imagine its like, a combination of it all, the space is already magical being adjacent to the ruins, she's casted a lot of stuff, and she'd save pulling from the ruins en masse until needed
Can I dream of Kana surviving...
Its so nice that Kana and Ratsumu merge even if it does give her a hard time
The ways everyone worries and cares for each other aughh even while mind controlled, this class really bonded
WHEN DID HALNA GET PSHUKE I mean she would and could it just feels like in between books Endou decided she also got got for the sake of managing the cast. In one sense, we have no one like Pythie to check on her status, but in another she doesn't have anyone to try to get close to the courtyard for. Ah well, Halna finds a way.

I will say I know that's the point but I'm legit surprised the ace went down like that, goes to show I guess, the things you trade by having them be so human compared to how unrelenting and inhuman Shufflin aces are (like we saw them keep fighting without their heads basically, until their muscles gave out) I will admit.. Anyway, lots of crazy shit here, I'm glad the Snow and Blue team-up is appropriately reluctant, she really had no choice... Crazy insight into Old Blue this time, she's fucking scary, trying to picture this cute perfectly composed magical girl walking around causing all this chaos and seeing through everything and everyone. Also we're finally getting some of her backstory and inside thoughts!! WHAT all was she doing about cranberry before she died, if anything?? did she just, not have enough power to out her? Actually, how did her exam end? did she not have her memories erased? did she, but then her magic made her remember somehow? hmmmm
