MGRP White Ch 8 first impressions, reactions and rambles

Pre-read thoughts:

  • Thinking about it, maybe Halna has a magical girl form and a sort of reverse Melville where she resembles Cranberry but from her obsession to stopping her instead of admiration?
  • I also forgot to consider Tetty potentially also being body swapped nooo, aaa, poor girl was perfectly used, played like a fiddle
  • I didn't realize it but I did miss all this political intrigue, scheming and grand conflict, not that BD didn't have it but so much of it comes down to SURVIVAL so its nice to have it here but this time, nicely balanced with the school life stuff (opposed to Aces/Queens all politics all stakes), its a good dynamic I'll keep saying it

reading:

  • okay so Frederica is going in early but blue knew that she would but knew that if she knew that she knew then she wouldn't so she didn't tell anyone yes

  • I'm still dubious Frederica will be at her estate I mean, why wouldn't she go, also she can teleport can't she??

  • so, Lazuline just wants to break away from the magical girl system? is that what she means by no more magical girls? but is that no more magical girls (as the kingdom has defined them) to be replaced by her vision (artificial magical girls) or just no MGs period?

  • I guess then, Frederica just wants to take it over and make more magical girls according to her ideals, basically her examination philosophy on a grand scale

  • ooh interesting about Lightning's origins, so her otherworldly beauty is a literal result of her birth

  • this is some good fucked up world building like, of course some mage would do shit like thiis

  • Also I noticed last night from the re-introductions that her name is Ai Tanaka, as in Ms.Tanaka, so I definitely feel like Old Blue has a bias here, thinking of her as a child of sorts, specially as the culmination of the princess series

  • Is Old Blue that different from the mage that made lightning though? hmmMMMMmm

  • okay so they're both setting up a showdown, or at least, Old Blue is confident Frederica will be there because of this

  • oh Asmona, I like her, constantly tired of Frederica's shit lol

  • this conflict too, is (toxic) yuri

  • Asmona almost went to school (and would've gotten a design!!), also Amy and Monako! I feel like this is more or less confirming they die during F2P lol

  • I guess it explains why it was mostly Elite Guard girls from Caspar

  • and of course, even as she gets that Lazuline is dangerous, Frederica wants to best her in battle, its what magical girls do

  • just always wish all these named characters could get designs, they're fairly important, at least Halna and Asmona I feel (but well, we'll see how long Asmona actually lasts)
